FROM SHARED
UNDERSTANDING TO
SEMANTIC REALITY.
SemanticMind starts as a conceptual framework — not as a finished model of an enterprise. It provides the structure in which business reality can be understood and connected explicitly. The concrete Semantic Reality emerges only together with the relevant business domains and knowledge holders. This Semantic Reality is then handed over as a semantic representation of business reality. How it is used afterwards with AI remains open.
Principle
Not a finished solution.
A shared foundation is created.
SemanticMind does not arrive with a predefined model of the enterprise. The framework meets the knowledge of business domains and knowledge holders. Together they create a Semantic Reality — an explicit, connected understanding of business reality that can then be used freely with AI of choice.
Build the shared understanding
People say what is true.
AI helps make it explicit.
SemanticMind itself initially provides the conceptual framework. The business content comes from the enterprise — from its business domains, knowledge holders, documents, systems, rules and existing process descriptions. Methods such as Event Storming make that knowledge visible together before it is formalized.
AI helps structure the material, connect related concepts and expose missing context. Business domains and knowledge holders validate what is meant and what actually holds in the business. Only through this combination of framework and enterprise knowledge does the concrete Semantic Reality emerge.
“For high-value shipments we need two independent approvals before transport can be authorized.”
“This affects the authorization rule, the available business action and the transition into the shipment state. I can show the impacted relationships and proposed changes.”
AI proposes structure.
People validate meaning.
One enterprise. Different questions.
The model stays one.
The view can change.
A process view is useful when you want to understand flow. A decision view is useful when you need to know why something is allowed. Integration and simulation need different perspectives again.
SemanticMind creates these as projections of the same connected business reality — not as separate truths that need to be synchronized later.
Different perspective.
Same business meaning.
After handover
The Semantic Reality stays the same.
How it is used remains open.
Semantic Reality is not a prescribed workflow or a fixed application. It is an explicit knowledge foundation that can be used with AI of choice for a wide range of questions.
An AI can use it to answer questions, explain relationships, create projections, analyse change, derive artefacts or support agents. Which of these possibilities — or entirely different ones — are used depends on the needs at hand.
The starting point is a concrete task to be addressed in relation to the business.
The AI uses concepts, situations, rules, relationships and responsibilities from Semantic Reality.
The AI connects the concrete question with the explicit business knowledge.
Depending on the need, the result may be an answer, analysis, view, recommendation, specification or something else.
How the result is used, integrated or processed further is not prescribed by a SemanticMind operating model.
Provide the framework.
The conceptual framework structures which business meanings and relationships can be made explicit without prescribing the enterprise’s content.
Let the Semantic Reality emerge.
They contribute the concrete enterprise knowledge, discover and validate its meaning. This is how the concrete Semantic Reality emerges as a semantic representation of business reality.
Use it freely.
The choice of AI, questions and applications follows the needs at hand.
